After missing Carly’s set at C2C festival 2024, getting to see her on the Hummingbird Tour was everything I could have imagined and more. From vocals to fan interaction, Carly has it all and what a gracious performer she is. One of the things I most admire about Carly is her ability to like other country artists, tell stories through her songs. When Carly is singing live it really feels like we as her fans are living through what she went through. I would also just like to mention the support, Wade Bowen who was also fantastic! I hope to see you back in the UK again soon.

As well as performing hits from her latest album Hummingbird, Carly also performed tracks from her older studio albums 29, Carly Pearce, and Every Little Thing. Opening with Rock Paper Scissors, Carly sure brought the house down with her vibrant energy and passion to get the audience excited. I also have to say a massive well done to Carly for getting through the night whilst being unwell - you sounded absolutely fabulous and it was evident fans appreciated the effort you went to. One of my favourite performances of the night was Next Girl; an upbeat and sassy song that had the audience singing along. Carly’s fluctuations during this song were really impressive especially when being sick! And she did not let this stop her as she was really enjoying the night and this was shown through her audience interaction and energy on stage.

For me, Hummingbird was one of my favourite country album releases of 2024, so getting to see the songs performed live was so cool. Carly for me is a relatable artist, as some of the issues she sings about in her songs really resonate with me. Country Music Made Me Do It was another great performance, I’m sure we’ve all been there at some point lol! Carly’s performance of We Don’t Fight Anymore was breathtaking. This is a beautiful song that explores the end of a relationship and finding peace with it and oneself, and I felt Carly really looked happier on stage, like she had found peace with herself. The track also features Chris Stapleton and on the night Carly performed it solo which was impressive.

We also got to hear a new release No Rain from the extended version of Hummingbird, out this Friday (14th March). I found Carly’s performances of 29 and Hide the Wine were beautifully performed and I really grasped a sense of her journey from her earlier album days to now. However my favourite performance of the night has to be What He Didn’t Do. This song is one of my favourite country songs, not just because it’s a masterpiece but because it is relatable for me. Some of us go through tough and complicated relationships with male figures in our lives and for me this song describes those turbulent relationships so well. Getting to see Carly perform it live as the last song of the night was a dream come true.

Thank you for such a beautiful and memorable night, Carly, and big shout out to the band too who were also superb! I really hope you come back to the UK soon!
