About Anthony Bonnette:
Anthony Bonnette's music hits you like a freight train, raw and unapologetic. He captures the spirit of country music with tales of heartache and hope, each song a testament to his life in the piney woods of East Texas. Whether he’s performing on stage or recording in the studio, Bonnette’s presence is both commanding and humble, drawing listeners into his world where every melody tells a story, and every lyric reflects his journey.
Bonnette first made waves with "Funny Man," a track that caught the attention of Merle Haggard and Toby Keith. Covered by Rodney Carrington for Capitol Records Nashville, the song established Bonnette as a songwriter with a unique blend of traditional country and modern storytelling. His breakout single, "Lone Star Steel," released in 2023, was added to over 34 Spotify playlists, reaching over 2.1 million listeners and amassing 125K streams. This single boosted his monthly Spotify listeners by 50,000, placing him among the top 200 American artists worldwide. "Lone Star Steel" recently climbed to #10 on the iTunes Belgium Country Chart as of June 14, 2024.
His current single, "Do You One Better," released on May 31, 2024, has already achieved a playlist reach of 2 million and reached #143 on the MusicRow Charts. "Lion Tamer," released on March 22, 2024, showcases his ability to strip down his music to its emotional core, offering an intimate experience that resonates deeply with listeners.
Born in Lone Star, Texas, Anthony Bonnette's roots run deep. Growing up near Lake O’ the Pines, he was surrounded by the dense pine forests and a musical family that filled their days with song. After high school, he picked up a guitar and began writing his own songs, eventually catching the attention of a music producer in Dallas who invited him to Nashville. There, he recorded his first singles, "Every Time It Rains" and "It's All Coming Back To Me Now," setting the foundation for his career.
With the release of “Hey There Pretty Girl” in 2024, Bonnette achieved Top 250K artist status worldwide, and “Just A Heartache Ago” reached #24 on the SoundCloud Ireland Pop Charts in 2023. His latest project, "That's Just Me," is set for release on September 6, 2024, promising to continue his heartfelt, authentic music tradition.
“I’ve always written, sang, and played music. I come from musical people who sing all day, lead worship in church, and just generally have a song in their hearts. I just want to be brave and honest enough to make music that my people will be proud of, and if I can do that, I think that will be enough, regardless of whatever ‘success’ I might have,” Bonnette shares.
He adds, “The love and support we’ve been shown has been incredible. Money doesn’t have the same value as it used to, and for folks to spend their hard-earned resources to attend our shows, buy merch, music, and beyond means a lot. We are touched by the people who send us messages or emails sharing their memories with us. We recently even had a baseball team share a video with us where they played one of my songs during their warm-ups. Just stuff like that makes it for me. I love sharing my music with people and love it when it can bring meaning to them. It does to me.”
“If you’re a country music enthusiast or you just love singer-songwriters, you’ve got to check Anthony Bonnette out. Anthony presents timeless themes in a truly imaginative way,” says Chad Mauldin of Mauldin Productions.
“He sells tickets, entertains the crowd and keeps the dance floor full, and his crowd consistently makes long drives to catch their show. It is so great to see these days. For me, along with ticket sales of course, it's their professionalism and stage presence,” adds Chris Bevill of Bevill Music.
Edward Wrobleski of Holyoke praises, “Anthony Bonnette has most definitely got a hit single on his hands with ‘Do You One Better.’ It has that 90s country sound that George Strait would even have done justice; in fact, Anthony's vocals sound very close to Strait's voice. It's like he picked up where George left off.”
As Anthony Bonnette continues releasing new music and captivates audiences with his live performances, he proves that he’s not just singing songs—he's telling the story of a life lived fully and authentically.
