June 27, 2025 – After more than a decade as the lead guitarist for ACM-nominated band Flatland Cavalry, Reid T. Dillon releases his first solo album, The Other Side, this Friday. The seven-track, introspective project marks a bold new chapter for the Texas-born musician, showcasing a deeply personal side of his artistry.
Produced by Scott Faris at Lubbock’s Amusement Park Studio, the same studio behind several of Flatland Cavalry’s most celebrated projects—including the RIAA Gold-certified single “A Life Where We Work Out”—The Other Side is led by early singles “Lovin’ You Left To Do” and “Never Recover.” Together, his songs introduce a more vulnerable, melodic side of Dillon’s artistry, blending intricate guitar work with intimate, self-penned songwriting.
Since joining Flatland Cavalry in 2014, Dillon has played a pivotal role in shaping the band’s distinctive sound and building a dedicated global fan base. With The Other Side, he turns the lens inward, offering a collection of personal reflections on growth, longing, and the challenging yet liberating process of letting go.
“I wanted to put this album out to share what’s been on my heart and mind through music,” Dillon said. “While I’m still very much a part of Flatland Cavalry, some songs I write don’t quite fit within that world. This solo project gave me space to say the things I’ve carried personally. I hope that somebody relates to these songs and even finds relief knowing that someone may be going through the same thing that they are going through. There is beauty on the other side of pain, doubt, heartbreak, and your comfort zone. Chase your fears!"

About Reid T. Dillon: From the moment he first picked up a guitar at 14, acclaimed guitarist Reid T. Dillon has been forging his own path, one built on raw talent, relentless passion, and an unshakable dedication. Hailing from Farmersville, TX, he carries the authentic spirit of small-town grit in his music, shaping a sound that is, in his own words, “real, raw, and unapologetic.”
Though he earned a degree in chemical engineering from Texas Tech University, Reid’s true calling was always music. It was in Lubbock where he joined forces with Cleto Cordero, Jason Albers, Jonathan Saenz, Wesley Hall, and Adam Gallegos to form Flatland Cavalry, a band that would go on to leave an indelible mark on the Texas country and Americana scene. As Flatland Cavalry’s sound grew from intimate stages to renowned venues, so did Reid’s profound connection to music, not just as a masterful guitarist, but as a compelling songwriter. He found himself increasingly drawn to the craft, eager to tell his own stories and carve out a voice that was undeniably his own, separate yet complementary to his band work.
Reid’s music is deeply rooted in authenticity, fusing the storytelling warmth of traditional country with the unfiltered edge of classic and southern rock. His songs beautifully capture the feeling of open highways, late-night conversations, and the kind of quiet, reflective moments that linger long after the last note fades, inviting listeners into his personal journey.
