NASHVILLE, Tenn., (Nov. 6, 2024) – Rising country artist and 2023 John Lennon Songwriting Prize finalist, Bryan Ruby, brings his spin on holiday cheer with his new sun-kissed single "Christmas Island," out next Friday, November 15. He will premiere the holiday anthem live at The Lipstick Lounge during a special release show that evening before taking it on a 10-date Gulf Coast run, The Heartbreak Tour: Christmas Island Edition.
“It’s what happens when you fully commit to the naughty list,” said Ryan Brisotti, co-writer and producer.
The track combines country island-rock with emotional lyrics about spending Christmas in the sun after a heartbreak, offering a fresh take on old holiday tropes. Ruby teamed up with producer and co-writer Ryan Brisotti and producer Mike Zara to create an atmosphere that perfectly captures the song’s festive, tropical theme.
"It’s been a big year singing my heartbreak jams from ‘Found & Lost’ out on the road, and this Christmas track is no different. We’re bringing the party south with 'Christmas Island' - no better way to end this crazy year than at the beach,” said Bryan Ruby.
The lyrics of "Christmas Island" captures the bittersweet pain of heartbreak during the holidays as you try to embrace the Christmas spirit.
"The bells ain’t silver, but the stars are gold
Snow ain’t falling, but the drinks are cold
I’m lit like a tree, and these paradise nights ain’t silent
Thanks for leaving, seasons greetings
From 'Christmas Island.'"
Coming off the success of his EP, "Found & Lost", released earlier this year, Ruby is excited to hit the road again and showcase his new holiday anthem on The Heartbreak Tour: Christmas Island Edition . He continues to set himself apart from other male country singers by embracing vulnerable lyrics in his songs, encouraging his listeners to embrace heartache and difficult emotions .
